Hospitality

Rosters for restaurants, cafés and bars.

Rosie writes the roster around who is free, their hours and the rest they need between shifts, so nobody gets a late close then an early open. You check it and send it out.

From $29 a month, 25 staff included. Free for 30 days on any plan, no card.

  • The roster written for you to check
  • Shift swaps in the staff app (Team and up)

What you get

Built for how hospitality venues work.

Built for hospitality

Keeps to the rest you set between a close and the next open, and staffs busier days to match. You set how many people each role needs on each shift.

Multi-venue management

One dashboard for all your venues. Move staff between them when you need extra hands. On the Roster plan, up to 3 venues; more on Team and Business.

Shift swaps that work

Staff ask for a swap in the app, and you approve or decline it. Fewer group chat threads. On the Team plan and up.

Labour cost tracking

See the wage bill as you build the roster, before you publish. It is an estimate at base pay rates; weekend and public holiday rates are in the reports. On the Team plan and up.

Availability & leave

Staff set when they can work and send leave requests in the app, and you approve them. On the Team plan and up.

Rosie writes the roster

Tell Rosie how many people you need on each shift. Press Auto-fill and it writes the roster. You check it and send it out.

In practice

The situations that cost you a morning.

  • The Sunday night scramble

It's 10pm and your barista just texted: they can't do Monday 6am. You need someone qualified, available, and not already working.

With Rosie: Rosie lists who holds the role, is free and is not already on. Give one of them the shift, and on the Team plan and up they see it in the staff app.

  • Close-open turnaround

Your manager is rostered to close at 11pm and open at 6am. That's 7 hours between shifts: not enough rest, and a burnout risk.

With Rosie: Auto-fill keeps to the minimum rest you set between shifts, and adding that shift by hand gets a warning.

  • The Christmas roster

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day in the same fortnight, everyone wants different days off, and you still need every shift covered.

With Rosie: Rosie writes it around approved leave and who is free, and balances shift counts and hours across the team. It does not keep track of who worked the last public holiday, so check those days before you publish.

Straight answers

Questions from hospitality venues.

  • How does Rosie handle split shifts?

You can give someone two shifts on the same day by hand, say breakfast and then dinner service. If the gap between them is shorter than the minimum rest you have set, Rosie warns you, and you can keep the shifts anyway. Auto-fill does not create split shifts: it applies the same minimum rest within a day as it does between days.

  • Can staff swap shifts themselves?

Yes, on the Team plan and up. Staff ask for a swap in the app, and you approve or decline it. Rosie checks that both people hold the role the shift needs before it goes through.

  • Does it work for multiple venues?

One dashboard for all your venues. You can see staffing across every venue and move people between them when you need extra hands. On the Roster plan, up to 3 venues; more on Team and Business.

  • How does Rosie write the roster?

You tell Rosie how many people you need on each shift and which roles. Press Auto-fill and it picks people based on their roles, when they are free, their contracted hours, and sharing the hours fairly. You check it, change anything you like, and publish.

  • What about public holidays and public holiday pay?

The roster shows your region’s public holidays, and you can set different staffing for those days. The wage cost you see while building (Team plan and up) is an estimate at base pay rates; public holiday pay is costed in the reports.

  • Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan is free for 30 days, with no card needed, and you can change plan during the trial. Add your staff and shifts, or start from a photo or spreadsheet of your current roster. Cancel any time if it's not for you.
