The morning rush does not care who called in sick.
What you get
Built for how cafés work.
Built for café days
Morning rush, afternoon lull, weekend brunch. Set how many people you need for each part of the day, and Rosie staffs to it.
Rostering by role
Your senior barista on the machine during rush, the new hire on register. Give each person their roles, and Rosie only puts them on shifts that need a role they hold.
Quick shift templates
Build your usual week once: opener, mid, closer. Reuse it every week and change it for busy periods.
Wage cost as you roster
Watch the wage bill update as you place each shift, before you publish. It is an estimate at base pay rates; weekend and public holiday rates are in the reports. On the Team plan and up. Rosie does not read your sales, so it shows what the week costs, not how that compares with what you take.
Self-service availability
On the Team plan and up, staff set when they can work in the app. No more texting everyone to find out who's free Saturday.
Rosie writes the roster
Tell Rosie how many staff you need on each shift. Press Auto-fill and it writes the week. You check it and publish.
In practice
The situations that cost you a morning.
The 6am no-show
Your opener calls in sick at 5:30am. The café opens in 30 minutes and you need someone who can run the machine.
With Rosie: Rosie shows who can run the machine, is free, and has hours left. Reassign the shift, or leave it open so anyone who can work it can claim it in the staff app (Team plan and up).
Christmas week with casuals
You've got 3 casuals who each have different availability over the holiday period. Tracking who can work when is a nightmare.
With Rosie: Everyone sets their holiday availability in the staff app (Team plan and up). Rosie writes the roster around who's actually free. No back-and-forth texting.
Training the new barista
Your new hire needs to be paired with an experienced barista for their first two weeks. You can't roster them on the machine alone.
With Rosie: Mark them as in training (Team plan and up). Rosie then only rosters them when an experienced barista is on at the same time.

Questions from cafés.
How does Rosie handle early morning shifts?
Rosie respects minimum rest periods between shifts. If someone closes at 9pm, they won't be auto-rostered for a 5am open unless your rest rules allow it. You set the rules, Rosie enforces them.
Can I roster different skill levels?
Yes. Assign roles like Senior Barista, Barista, and All-Rounder to your staff. Rosie uses these when auto-filling, so each shift gets the roles it needs.
What about casual minimum hours?
On the Team plan and up, set a minimum and maximum shift length for each employment type, such as casual or part-time. Auto-fill won't put someone on a shift shorter than the minimum for their type. Helpful for casuals who need at least 3 hours to make the trip worthwhile.
Does it handle public holidays?
The roster shows your region’s public holidays, and you can set different staffing for those days. Handy over Christmas and New Year, when some days are public holidays and the days in between are ordinary days. The wage cost you see while building (Team plan and up) is an estimate at base pay rates; public holiday pay is costed in the reports.
Can staff see their roster on their phone?
Yes, on the Team plan and up. Staff get the Rosie app, with a notification when the roster is published. They can see their shifts, ask for time off and set when they are free. On the Roster plan, staff don't get the app, so you print or export the roster for them.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan is free for 30 days, with no card needed. The trial runs on the plan you pick, and you can change plan any time. You can start from a photo or spreadsheet of your current roster.
