Handover is the one shift you cannot leave uncovered.
What you get
Built for how clinics and care teams work.
Fatigue management
Auto-fill keeps to the minimum rest you set between shifts, and warns you if you add a shift by hand that breaks it.
Role-based rostering
Set how many of each role every shift needs, such as RNs or senior cover. Certificate tracking is on the Team plan and up.
A fair share of hours
Rosie balances shift counts and hours across the team against each person’s contracted hours. It does not balance nights or weekends separately yet, so check those before you publish.
Multi-ward coverage
Manage wards, departments, and sites from one dashboard. Spot coverage gaps before they become problems.
Gaps you can see
After auto-fill, Rosie lists the shifts it could not fill and why, so you can fix them before you publish.
Staff wellbeing
See each person’s hours. Rosie keeps to their maximum hours and the days they can work.
In practice
The situations that cost you a morning.
Meeting overnight ratios
You need 2 RNs and 3 caregivers on every night shift. One RN just went on leave and your casual pool is thin.
With Rosie: Rosie shows the shift it could not fill and lists who holds the role and is free to take it.
The 5am sick call
A caregiver calls in sick an hour before the morning handover. You need a qualified replacement before the night team leaves.
With Rosie: Rosie lists who holds the role, is free and has not hit their hour limits. Give one of them the shift.
Fair Christmas allocation
Every year the same people get stuck working Christmas Day. Your team notices and morale takes a hit.
With Rosie: Rosie balances shift counts and hours across the team as it fills. It does not remember who worked last Christmas, so put those shifts in by hand and Rosie fills the rest around them.

Straight answers
Questions from clinics and care teams.
How does Rosie enforce staffing ratios?
You set the minimum number of staff per role for each shift. Auto-fill staffs to it and lists any shift it could not fill, so you can sort the gap before you publish.
Can it track qualifications and certifications?
Each staff member has roles assigned in Rosie. When auto-filling, Rosie only assigns people to shifts for roles they hold. On the Team plan and up you can also track certificates: once one expires, that person is not auto-rostered for shifts that require it.
How are overnight shifts handled?
Rosie understands shifts that cross midnight. A 10pm–6am shift is treated as one continuous shift. Rest periods between shifts are calculated correctly even when they span two calendar days.
Does it help with fatigue management?
Yes. Set minimum rest hours between shifts, maximum consecutive days, and maximum hours per period. Auto-fill keeps to all of them, and adding a shift by hand that breaks someone’s rest or hours gets a warning.
Can I manage multiple wards or departments?
Each ward or department is a location in Rosie. You can see staffing across all of them, spot gaps, and move staff between wards when needed. On the Roster plan, up to 3 locations; more on Team and Business.
